Who we are

St John’s Northwood is a church in transition. We are constantly seeking to journey with Jesus and to represent him faithfully in our life, worship and witness. We recognise that we have not arrived in the sense that we do not have all the answers to the big questions of life. We are however not afraid to address those questions and to harness all the resources of our faith in so doing.

We have deep concerns for our local community as well as the communities represented by the members of our congregation. We are conscious of our place in the global scheme of things and our responsibility as members of the Church, Catholic and Universal. There thus flows out from St John’s Northwood support for world-wide activities and projects. Trade justice is an important matter for us and on the 9th of March 2004, the Elders Meeting agreed that the congregation and its organisations would commit themselves to only serving Fairtrade teas and coffees at services and meetings.

We are consistently striving to be an open, welcoming, hospitable congregation providing relevant spiritual resources to anyone requiring them in our present culture and time.
