St. John's Guild

The St John’s Guild was formed from the Women’s Missionary Association. We are now in our 49th year. Every woman in the congregation is a member and we now welcome men to our meetings.

We meet every Thursday afternoon from 2.30pm, from early October to late March. We begin with a hymn ( chosen by our speaker ) and a prayer. Our speakers are varied – we have musical afternoons, quizzes and travel talks.

Once a month we have a “get together” when you can come along and just chat or play scrabble.

During the winter months we hold two informal lunches – a soup and sandwich and a sausage and mash – plus a Christmas lunch which is very popular.

During the summer we hold coffee mornings and a midsummer afternoon tea. They provide an income, a large part of which is given to charity – mainly local - but we also support at least two which are overseas.

We are a very friendly group!
